Starkey Tankers Join Dairy UKs – Dairy Transport Assurance Scheme (DTAS)

Since the launch of DTAS in September 2010 by Dairy UK, more and more customers have required our assistance is supplying past load information of our rental tankers.  For that reason we have recently become associate members of the scheme, and are now monitoring and recording the loads our rental tankers are carrying to help assist the scheme.

Developed by Dairy UK, the scheme covers the transport of milk and milk fractions from the farm gate to the dairy processing site and between dairies. The standards also covers sub-contractors, vehicle hygiene, site requirements, personnel and training, complaints procedures and record keeping.  For this reason we feel that joining the scheme was vital in order to help assist our customers in providing the correct information to the scheme assessors.

Water Tanks A Plenty!

We recently sent this load out to various customers in the Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire areas for water storage.  The fine weather in March has brought concern to many with the need for bulk water storage required for spraying, livestock and other agricultural practices.

We aim to make the most of the transport we hire in, to benefit the environment but to keep costs to a minimum for our customers.
